School Programs
CrocTalk is an approved, School District #23 field trip destination facility and is popular for educational excursions by elementary schools, pre-schools, home-school groups. It is also a very popular on-site outing for both university and college students. Croc “Talks” for both middle and senior secondary schools are held, mainly off-site, to better accommodate the varying academic schedules of the students and to cover multiple classes in one day.
Presentations for schools are delivered for curriculum-specific learning when requested by the classroom teacher. Also, to ensure the highest possible transfer of learning, both on-site and off-site talks are augmented by the use of relative print material.
Tactile opportunities are optional for attendees, so to maintain CrocTalk’s perfect safety record, the partners apply stringent safety measures, such as securing the crocodile’s mouth, and when necessary the partners utilize a special harness as an additional safeguard.
Fees for off-site events begin at $250 for in-town bookings and are one hour in length. Two small crocodilians and one tortoise are used for these occasions, with an added fee of $50 per additional crocodile. Travel time is added to charges when the distance is more than a thirty minute drive. Fees for on-site events vary according to grade level and/or age of group members.
